Eight days after the start of the Pacific War, 80 years have passed, and an event was held in Osaka City to encourage people to think about war and peace through rakugo.

This event was held on the 5th at the Peace Museum "Peace Osaka" in Chuo-ku, Osaka, and was attended by four rakugoka.

Of these, Mr. Choroku Katsura, the third generation, performed a rakugo story "Air Raid Shelter" with the motif of his predecessor, Harutoshi Kondo, who died at the age of 47 in the air raid on Osaka in June 1945.

Rakugo begins when a man dreams of being in an air defense and moans while sleeping, saying, "Is it going to be steamed as it is?

Along the way, rakugo progressed with laughter, and there was a scene where a ghost of a rakugo storyteller appeared in the air defense, and I thought about Mr. Kondo who was the victim of the air raid just one year after he was named Hana Keiji. It is included.

Mr. Hana Keiji wanted as many people as possible to think about the war, so he introduced many funny scenes.

About 140 people gathered at the venue and occasionally laughed and listened.

A 20-year-old woman living in Higashi-Osaka, who visited the venue as a spectator, said, "I felt that the younger generation needed to know more about the war. I would like to write about today in my university report and myself. I hope I can post it on my blog as well. "

After the event, Mr. Choroku Katsura said, "I can only say it in a normal way, but I think it's my job to tell you that war is no good. I want to continue to increase opportunities to tell."

The second generation of the predecessor, Mr. Choroku Katsura, was sacrificed in an air raid just one year after the attack.

According to Mr. Hana, and researchers in the history of performing arts, the second generation, Mr. Choroku Katsura and Mr. Harutoshi Kondo, were killed in the June 1945 air raid on Osaka.

Mr. Kondo died near the air defense, but the details of the situation at that time are unknown, and the place where he was buried is not clear.

Mr. Kondo took the name of the second generation Choroku Katsura in 1945, and it is said that he was the victim of an air raid only one year later.

Mr. Kondo entered the world of rakugo when he was 17 to 19 years old, but because of the boom in comic storytelling at that time, he gained popularity not for comic storytelling but for comic storytelling and comedy.

Even so, Mr. Kondo, who never forgot about rakugo, has a record of continuing rakugo activities at least three months before his death.

A picture of Mr. Kondo is hung on the wall of Mr. Keiji Katsura's rehearsal hall, and it means that he is always holding hands before the rehearsal.

Mr. Choroku Katsura, the third generation, said about Mr. Kondo, "I think I was regrettable because I wanted to do rakugo. Looking at the photos of the previous generation, it seems that I am angry that" You have to work harder because you are blessed. " I feel like I have to do more rakugo, I think I have to practice more. "

Creative rakugo "air raid shelter" You can think of the predecessor of the sacrifice in the air raid

The original rakugo "air raid shelter" was created by Mr. Hana Keiji around May, thinking of the predecessor who was sacrificed by an air raid without being able to fully understand his favorite rakugo.

Mr. Hana Keiji learned that his predecessor died in the war when he was named six years ago, and was told by his predecessor's relatives that he was killed in the Osaka air raid three years ago.

After that, he began to look into the footprints by reading books and talking to researchers, and went to the Peace Museum, which exhibits full-scale air defenses, to find out even a little about the situation where the predecessor was sacrificed. That is.

Under these circumstances, Mr. Hana Keiji began to want to convey the misery of the war in rakugo.

The original rakugo dreamed of a man being in an air defense, and moaned while sleeping, saying, "It's getting hot, it's steaming, and it's smoking. It starts from raising.

After waking up, the man realized that it was June 15th, when Osaka was hit by an air raid in 1945, thinking of those who died in the air raid, and went to the neighborhood to get incense sticks. I will visit the remaining air defense.

The ghost of a rakugo storyteller is set in the air defense, and the thoughts of the predecessor who was the victim of the air raid just one year after the name of Hana Keiji is included.

In addition, there are many funny scenes in order to encourage a wide range of generations, from young people to the elderly, to think about war.

Mr. Choroku Katsura, the third generation, said, "I think it may not be possible to do it with such a light feeling. Still, I want you to be interested in the misery of the war by telling me the living proof of the predecessor. I'm doing it thinking that. "
