Recently, the director of the play, Battelle, accepted an interview to disclose the story behind the filming of this TV play.
The play tells the story of Mao Zedong leading the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to enter Xiangshan from Xibaipo after the peaceful liberation of Peking in 1949 to "come into Beijing for examination", liberate the whole of China, prepare for the establishment of a new China, and build the story of four pillars and eight pillars of the new China.

"'Always on the road to the exam' is the theme that this play wants to convey." In Battelle's view, creating the main theme between the virtual and the reality is true, innovative, and life-oriented.
The time period in the play lasted from March to October 1949.
Battelle told reporters that the title of this play is "Xiangshan Ye Zhenghong", which is actually a metaphor and a symbol.
"The leaves of Xiangshan are red and beginning to red, which also symbolizes the birth of this red new world."
"This history is the history of the birth of New China, and it is also a historical stage full of changes." As a director, Battelle wants to let more young people understand this history through this work.
"We want to pass on the spiritual power of that time to the present audience, and let the ideal light of striving and forging ahead illuminate our life."
But how to make young people like to watch such a major revolutionary historical TV series?
Battelle believes that the red theme works are not to "speak" or "speak big."
"If we reflect history as objectively and truthfully as possible, I believe that it is acceptable to young audiences. The creation of the main melody work should start from life and reality. The choice of angle is very important. It is also a historical fact. Which one do you start from? Expressing from angles and in what form is an important topic for attracting audiences."

When it comes to the casting of the main theme of the film and television works, Battelle feels that the key to casting is not whether the actors "have traffic."
"If his image and character are in line with the character, why not do it? He has the flow and is very suitable for this character, plus he performs well, which is a good thing. But now the problem is Many traffic actors are not suitable for this role, and many traffic actors have no acting skills. This results in pure traffic, not looking at other things, which is wrong." In the interview, Battelle also talked about the performances of many actors in the play.
According to the director, the play has nearly 300 characters, including real historical characters and fictional characters in the play.
"Regardless of the role, we all demand excellence, show their best state, and try our best to portray these roles as real and vivid, and show their brilliance."
In Battelle's impression, the actors are very serious about filming.
