At a facility in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, 11 domestic ducks were found dead one after another, and as a result of inspection by the prefecture, avian influenza virus was detected.

This is the first time this season that avian influenza virus has been detected in Chiba prefecture.

According to Chiba Prefecture, 11 ducks were found dead one after another at the "Shinhama Kamoba" of the Imperial Household Agency in Ichikawa City from the 3rd to the 4th, and the Livestock Hygiene Center was contacted.



As a result of the prefecture's inspection, bird flu virus was detected in 7 of the dead ducks.



In response to this, the prefecture decided to dispose of a total of about 330 ducks and ducks kept in this facility to prevent the spread of the infection.



According to Chiba Prefecture, it is the first time this season that avian influenza virus has been detected in the prefecture.



Chiba Prefecture is calling attention to all poultry farms in the prefecture, and will hold a meeting of the countermeasures headquarters from 10 am on the 5th to confirm future policies.
