Following the spread of the worldwide infection of Omicron strains, the government will in principle suspend new entry of foreigners from all countries and regions, and it is possible that infected persons have been confirmed or infections have occurred. We also require Japanese who enter from 51 countries and regions that we judge to be expensive, and foreigners who have a status of residence to wait for a certain period of time at the accommodation facility designated by the quarantine station.
Furthermore, in California, where the first person infected with the Omicron strain was confirmed in the United States, we decided to require those who enter the country to wait at the quarantine station facility for three days after entering the country.
Similarly, new infected persons have been confirmed in Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, and Norway, so Japanese people entering the country will be asked to wait.
These measures will be applied from entry after midnight on the 4th of Japan time.
