Regarding the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to several Gulf countries and his affirmation of discussing the Lebanese issue with these countries, Al-Shayji stressed that Macron’s visit comes within the framework of his electoral campaign and an attempt to alleviate the tragedy he is experiencing inside France, stressing that there is no bet on it because it will not achieve tangible results.

The Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, had submitted his resignation from the government, due to the crisis between Lebanon and the Gulf countries.

Kordahi said that his resignation comes within the framework of Lebanon's supreme interest, and as a gesture to support the efforts of French President Emmanuel Macron to solve the Lebanon crisis, during his current Gulf tour.

For his part, Macron expressed his hope for imminent progress in the Lebanese file.

For his part, journalist and political analyst Rashid Fayed said that Qardahi's resignation was scheduled and was not surprising, but it came to perpetuate Hezbollah's attempt to hide the main reason behind the boycott of Lebanon by the Gulf states, which is related to drug smuggling to these countries, especially Saudi Arabia.

He added that turning Lebanon into an Iranian platform in the face of the Gulf states is one of the most important reasons that led to the boycott, accusing Hezbollah of trying to wrap up the resignation that the Saudi-Lebanese problem was caused by Minister Qardahi, but he failed to do so. He also accused the party of smuggling weapons to the Houthi group in Yemen through Beirut airport and annexing damage to the kingdom.

He added that the French president had delusions that the resignation would solve the problem, revealing Saudi Arabia's request to France not to bring the issue of Lebanon to the dialogue table during Macron's visit, and at the same time mocked the steps taken by France towards Lebanon because they begin and do not end, recalling the visit that took place after the Beirut explosion. On the other hand, Qassem Kassir, a journalist and political analyst, said that the resignation came at an appropriate time, and supports the efforts of the French president, who is determined to solve this problem, and that the government has begun to adhere to many positions towards the Gulf, and we have witnessed positive messages from Saudi Arabia and the UAE towards Lebanon.

He added that the action plan between Lebanon and the Gulf states began 3 weeks ago, but the resignation was timed to coincide with the visit of the French President in order to speed up the arrival of a comprehensive solution.
