Dar Al Iftaa warns Egyptians not to give their daughters this name

The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa warned against naming the sons of Muslims and Egyptians in particular, with the name Rama, which enjoys the spread of this period among a large number of female births, and it means the name of one of the gods of India.

And Al-Watan newspaper quoted the Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa that “the name Rama is one of the gods of India, and because of him the Babri Mosque was demolished in India in 1992,” explaining that “it is not correct to perpetuate the name of one of the polytheists’ gods by calling a Muslim girl, especially if the name of this God is a reason for the demolition of one of the houses of God, and it is not appropriate for the Muslim family to abandon the infinite names and cling to a name that is associated with painful memories in the souls of Muslims.”
