On November 30, an F16 fighter belonging to the US military Misawa Air Base in Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture, dumped two fuel tanks during flight, and one of them fell near a residential area in Fukaura Town, Aomori Prefecture. So, as a result of a search by the US military, on the afternoon of December 2, metal debris was found in a mountain hundreds of meters away from the residential area where the first one was found.
The U.S. military is conducting recovery work and is checking if it is another fuel tank that has been dumped.
