The P3 gold gala will not be held at Radiohuset in Stockholm on January 22 as previously planned.
Pia Kalischer, who is responsible for events on Swedish radio, believes that the increasing corona infection is the reason.
- When we made the decision to hold the gala 2022 on site in the radio house, the pandemic situation was completely different.
But the pandemic is capricious and changes quickly, so it no longer feels responsible to organize it, says Pia Kalischer.
The gala, which would have been held in January, would have been P3 Gold's 20th anniversary, is now being postponed to a date that has not yet been decided.
- It's very boring.
But we do not cancel completely, tomorrow we start the process of setting a new date to be able to carry out the gala, says Kalischer.
Vaccination certificate not current
From the first of December, vaccination certificates are valid for events with more than 100 participants.
However, there is nothing that could have prevented the postponement of the gala, says Pia Kalischer.
- The idea was to have a small audience that was especially invited with, for example, ticket winners.
But the majority of those who had been at the gala are the organizers, the nominees and those who would perform.
And there it is difficult to say where we have an employer responsibility and as an employer we can not demand vaccination proof, says Pia Kalischer.
