Alert in Alsace.

The hospitals of Strasbourg (HUS), Colmar and Mulhouse have all launched their “white plan”.

Wednesday for the two Haut-Rhin, this Thursday for that of the capital of Bas-Rhin.

All justify this device by "the rapid evolution" of Covid-19.

"This trigger does not mean an immediate and large-scale recall of professionals, but should make it possible to adapt, or even reorganize, all of the activities in order to support saturated critical services", write the HUS in a press release.

Currently, just for the epidemic, "74 patients are hospitalized, including 18 in intensive care".

"Their number has doubled in the space of 15 days and corresponds to the peak reached in May 2021", according to the Strasbourg university hospitals.

In the Bas-Rhin, the incidence rates have sharply increased in recent weeks.

It has now reached 400 positive cases for Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants, according to Public Health France.

In Haut-Rhin, it is even worse with a rate of 410 per 100,000 inhabitants, against a French average of 311.

"To cope with a significant need for Covid beds, the two establishments are reorganizing themselves to recreate units dedicated to the care of these patients", which requires "in some cases to postpone scheduled care activities", indicate for their part, the Hospital Group of the Mulhouse and South-Alsace region (GHRMSA) and the Civil Hospitals of Colmar (HCC).
