She wanted to sell a sofa on Facebook, but she made an embarrassing mistake. A British mother provoked a wave of condemnation

A British mother's experience of selling a sofa on her Facebook page turned into an unexpected crisis that caused her to be subjected to a wide campaign of harsh criticism, which the mother scorned at first, only to discover later that she had offered her child for sale, not the sofa.

Unbeknownst to her, Lucy Battle posted a false advertisement on Facebook while she was trying to sell an old sofa in her home.

And according to the "Sky News" website, Lucy showed her "Facebook" a picture of her seven-month-old son, Oscar, with a post saying: "For urgent sale today."

"I made a huge mistake by choosing the picture of Oscar instead of the sofa from the image file stored on my computer," Lucy was quoted as saying by the British newspaper, The Mirror.

She added, "I knew my mistake when I started receiving many negative comments on my phone registered with the post."

And she continued, "Most of those who commented on the post mocked me, while others attacked me, accusing me of not being the ideal mother who preserves and protects her children."

Lucy concluded her speech to the British newspaper, saying: "I felt relieved when I deleted the post.

Next time, I will make sure to check before publishing, and to choose the correct images attached to my posts.”
