Before dawn on the 2nd, a house in Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture was burnt down and two bodies were found in the burnt remains, and one was burned and taken to the hospital.
There are three people living in this house, a man in his 80s and two daughters in his 50s, and police are checking their identities and investigating the cause of the fire.
Around 1:30 am on the 2nd, a person living nearby reported to the police that a wooden one-story house of Mitsuo Hoshino (82) in Hongo, Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture, was on fire.
Fifteen fire trucks and other vehicles were dispatched, and the fire was extinguished after about three and a half hours, but two buildings, including Mr. Hoshino's house and the one next door, were completely destroyed.
According to police, two bodies were found in the burnt remains of Mr. Hoshino's house, and one woman was burned and taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Mr. Hoshino lived with his second daughter and third daughter in his 50s, so the police are proceeding with confirmation of his identity.
The site is located about 4 km southwest of JR Okabe Station, in an area dotted with houses, and police and fire departments are investigating the cause of the fire.
