Exit the pre-recorded telephone dialogues of Santa Claus. Make way for video. With his website VisioPereNoel.com, Alexandre Azra, 30, offers children the opportunity to chat live with the real Santa Claus (well almost). The magic of the Web, which allows total interaction with a Santa Claus, played by professionals. An idea that germinated in the mind of its founder in December 2019, after he made a videoconference with his nephews and nieces, through a friend who used to wear the costume of the famous bearded man. “The kids loved it! Then this idea came back to me at the time of the first confinement, in March 2020. "

In full professional transition, this young trade professional decides to change direction to create his business.

After several Internet searches, Alexandre finds that his video project with “real” Santa Claus is innovative.

He then decides to create his website and goes in search of entertainment professionals to play the role of the children's favorite bearded man.

“I did castings.

These are all people who come from the entertainment world, and usually play Santa Claus in shopping malls or businesses, ”explains Alexandre, who works with around ten Santa Claus.

More than 2,500 reservations in 2020

And for the magic of Christmas to operate, parents who use the VisioPereNoel.com site are invited to provide information on the children when booking their time slot. Information that allows you to create a personalized exchange between Santa Claus and the interested parties. “The children are amazed that he knows so much about them! There is a real conversation. They are actors in the exchange, and more spectator ”. Thanks to a green background installed with the actors, the child can really imagine the house of Santa Claus.

Result: more than 2,500 people have reserved a time slot to chat by webcam in 2020. A craze accelerated by the various confinements linked to the health crisis. An innovation that has also been successful among French-speaking expatriates, since the Nantes website received reservations from around thirty countries in 2020. Alexandre Azra also works with works councils. A great success for the platform, which has decided to donate part of its profits (2,000 euros) to Secours Populaire.

The videoconference lasts between 5 and 10 minutes and costs 14.90 euros.

The child can communicate his gift list live, ask Santa Claus questions and receive advice.

The time for Santa Claus's answering machine is now a long way off.

Here, it is a human who is behind the screen.

A moment that often marks children, as well as their parents.

Video is now part of everyday use.

Including in Lapland.
