On November 30, Fujian Fuzhou Maritime Police Bureau seized an illegal mining case in the waters near Lianjiang, Fuzhou, and seized a 10,000-ton sand carrier and 4 persons involved. Approximately 6,000 tons of sea sand were seized.

In the morning of the same day, the Lianjiang Work Station of the Fuzhou Coastal Police Bureau and the Nangang Boat of the Bureau carried out patrol control in the waters of the jurisdiction.

During the duty, marine police officers take advantage of the features of UAVs that are flexible, convenient to obtain evidence, and have wide coverage. They use the coordinated cooperation of large and small boats on the sea, and the three-dimensional control mode of aerial monitoring by UAVs in the air to conduct comprehensive inspections on the waters of their jurisdiction.

At about 12 noon, drone surveillance found that a steel sand ship was carrying a batch of sea sand in the waters near Yangyu, Lianjiang.

After research and judgment, the suspected ship did not turn on the ship identification system, and its behavior was very suspicious.

The maritime police law enforcement boat immediately went to the target sea area for investigation, and immediately after approaching the suspected ship, it clarified its identity by shouting and requesting that the ship be inspected.

After the suspected ship discovered the maritime police law enforcement officer, it refused to stop the ship and immediately speeded up its escape.

The on-site commander made a decisive decision and gave instructions for the motorboat to intercept and the large boat to force the boat to help. After about 5 minutes of chase and interception, the suspected ship was finally controlled.

After investigation, the ship was about 130 meters long and 20 meters wide. It was loaded with a batch of sea sand of about 6000 tons, and the ship’s personnel were unable to provide relevant legal procedures for the sea sand transported, as well as relevant documents such as mining permits and sea area use rights certificates. Illegal mining.

Currently, the case is being further processed.
