More than a year after the deadly floods that occurred in October 2020 in the Alpes-Maritimes, an “unprecedented” popular consultation will begin to define the “future” of the affected areas. For two months, in January and February 2022, the inhabitants of the Roya, Tinée and Vésubie valleys will thus be able to express themselves within the framework of three groups each formed of 50 people.

They will be made up of volunteers who will be able to come forward from Monday while respecting the parity of men / women and according to a sociological representation "as diverse as possible", according to the prefecture. Another group of 80 inhabitants will come from these first three groups. Their proposals, on unlimited themes (mobility, social issues, economic and tourist development, etc.), will be submitted to mayors and elected officials, under the aegis of the Interministerial Directorate for Public Transformation.
