Through 50 paintings in which the art of Arabic calligraphy interacts with technology and the experience of digital reality, artist Diaa Allam presented his artwork entitled “The Spirit of the Union in Letters and Ma’an” at Nakheel Mall, where he worked on choosing 50 words that embody the meanings that the UAE campaigned in its path since the union until today. Her body in works of art that highlight ambition, humanity, tolerance, happiness, inspiration, and other vocabulary that woven the history of the Emirates.

Allam said about his exhibition to "Emirates Today": "On the 40th National Day of the UAE, I presented a work bearing the same theme, and it can be said that it is the main seed for today's work, as I presented 40 words expressing the Emirates, and since that time, I have been thinking about how to present a special work. In the year 50, and how to present it in a way that keeps pace with technology.”

Allam pointed out that he chose 50 words, and each word expresses the Emirates, its path, development, reality and its people, and these words are supported by the augmented reality feature through the videos that open with each painting, and embodies the true concept of meaning, through the application that was launched with the artwork, to be complementary for him.

Allam stressed that the meanings carried by the work that celebrates the golden jubilee of the Emirates, did not differ much from the meanings he presented 10 years ago, but he added to it the new meanings that have become associated with the Emirates, including happiness, tolerance, empowerment, humanity, innovation, and charity, indicating that they are phrases that have become Its use is common in recent times, especially as it is highly expressive of the state.

The colors of the Emirati work are present in the work, and the distribution of the paintings bears the shape of the design of the Emirates flag. The artist linked his work to the occasion of the National Day and the Golden Jubilee, through the golden color carried by the basic writing of the words, in addition to writing the word Emirates, which was placed in a lighter degree in the background of each painting, while The font used in the work is Allam's font, which has been in print for years.

The line is supplemented with the augmented reality feature, so that the artist set himself the challenge of completing the work in 50 days, and since the start of the work, he partnered with an Ecuadorean artist on the augmented reality feature to try to convey the meaning in a very contemporary way, so the idea came to use the phone and see the work and interact with it. Allam pointed out that after downloading the application, every word is written in the work, the recipient goes to an expressive video of this word and its meaning. The ambition opens to a video of the Hope Probe, for example, and thus the videos come with strong attachment to meanings. He stressed that some videos were specifically filmed for work, including those that were used, explaining that technology gives art a new dimension in presenting it to people in a closer way to the recipient, and this is what we find in many agencies that present contemporary works on the Internet and preserved in particular, which guarantees the artist Labor rights itself and keep pace with developments.

This work is not the first that Allam presents on the occasion of the National Day, and he confirmed that he presented many works in the national celebrations in the country, but this work is one of the largest works of the UAE National Day, and carries with it the idea of ​​interaction with the number 50 and the celebrations accompanying it.
