On November 30, the director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Wu Zhihua, stated in Hong Kong that in the future, the M+ Museum and the Hong Kong Palace Museum will cooperate with the world's best museums to bring masterpieces to Hong Kong for exhibition.

In the future, the two museums are expected to attract about 5 million visitors each year.

After customs clearance in Hong Kong, four out of these 5 million people are expected to be visitors to Hong Kong.

Wu Zhihua said that the two museums are only about a 15-minute walk from the West Kowloon High Speed Rail Station, which will make them important tourist attractions for visitors from the Greater Bay Area and Mainland China.

Wu Zhihua pointed out that the overall tourism revenue of the Greater Bay Area has increased fivefold between 2005 and 2017.

The market value of the overall tourism industry in the Greater Bay Area in 2017 was approximately US$170 billion, equivalent to one-fifth of China's overall tourism industry.
