Each month these changes.

December is no exception to the rule.

And if generally this inventory announces inflation and rising prices, this time December rhymes with premiums.

And before Christmas, that's pretty good news.

20 Minutes

tells you everything that changes between now and the end of the year.

New unemployment insurance compensation rules

The last two measures of the disputed reform of unemployment insurance enter into force on December 1, tightening access to compensation.

For employees under the age of 57 (60,000 people in 2022, according to Unédic) with a gross monthly income above 4,500 euros, who register from December 1, the declining rate of unemployment benefit will apply. from the 7th month, i.e. in June 2022, and no longer nine months as before.

The conditions for entitlement to unemployment are also changing.

It will now be necessary to have worked for six months over the last twenty-four months (thirty-six months for those over 53) to be able to register, against four months previously.

Vaccine reminder and health pass

It is from this Wednesday that officially opens access to the third dose of vaccine for all adults.

In addition, those over 65 and people who received the Janssen vaccine more than three months ago will have their health pass deactivated from December 15 if they do not justify a booster dose.

People 65 and over vaccinated with a double dose of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca should have received their booster dose, seven months after their last injection.

As for people vaccinated with the Janssen vaccine, they should have received their booster dose three months after the injection of their single dose.

Energy voucher, inflation bonus and Christmas

The energy voucher of 100 euros will be distributed in the mailboxes of 5.8 million households between December 13 and 22 to cope with the surge in energy prices. Similarly, the inflation allowance, also in the amount of 100 euros, will be paid during the month to employees in the private sector receiving less than 2,000 euros net, to self-employed workers (self-employed, farmers, liberal professions) and to scholarship students.

Two other bonuses are added to these.

The Christmas bonus will be paid automatically in mid-December to households benefiting from social minima.

Its amount varies according to the composition of the household: 152.45 euros for a single person, 228.67 euros for a couple or a single parent and 274.41 euros for a household made up of three people.

Larger families will receive 60 euros per additional child.

Finally, the exceptional purchasing power bonus, of a maximum amount of 2,000 euros, may be paid by companies which so wish to their employees, without any social or tax charges.

Last days to modify your tax return

For people benefiting from a tax credit or reduction, it will be necessary to adjust the amount paid in January 2022 before December 9, under penalty of having an overpayment to repay later.

Taxpayers also have until December 15 to correct their income tax return prepared online last spring, and until December 31 to validate a possible change in the withholding tax rate.
