On the night of the 1st, a fire broke out in Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, and two people were found dead.
Police are confirming that the person who died is a couple in their 80s who live in this house.
Around 10:30 pm on the 1st, a person living nearby reported to the fire department that a house was burning in Nyuuta, Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.
Four fire trucks were dispatched and the fire was extinguished after about an hour and a half, but a wooden one-story house and warehouse of about 100 square meters was completely burned down, and two people were found dead in the burnt remains.
According to police, Kunio Nakayama (89) and his 84-year-old wife live in this house, and they have lost contact with them after the fire.
The police are rushing to confirm that it was Mr. and Mrs. Nakayama who died, and are investigating the cause of the fire.
The site is an area dotted with fields and houses about 5 km northwest of the Air Self-Defense Force Nittahara base in the town.
