The public inquiry concerning the extension of line 1 to Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne) will finally take place.

Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the news on Monday to the president of the Île-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse, reports Actu Val-de-Marne.

The government reversed its position after initially judging the investigation to be too onerous and postponing it.

Local elected officials and associations then organized a demonstration on November 20.

Their goal was to see the project of three additional metro stations succeed.

The investigation should be launched next January.

A meeting of the Ile-de-France Mobilités board of directors is scheduled for this purpose on December 9.

All the documents and information needed to set up the procedure should be provided there.
