The Bartholdi museum in Colmar (Haut-Rhin) is accessible free of charge from this Tuesday until December 31.
It is for the moment possible to visit the places without paying a cent in the afternoon, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
From Tuesday 14 December, however, free admission will apply all day, from 10 a.m. to noon then from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., details Actu Haut-Rhin.
Creator of famous monuments
The site offers visitors to learn more about the life and work of Auguste Bartholdi, born in 1834 in Colmar.
The artist is mainly known for having created the Statue of Liberty installed in New York (United States).
The sculptor is also at the origin of the fountain which bears his name in Lyon (Rhône) as well as the Monument to Vercingétorix erected in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme).
Auguste Bartholdi also produced the Lion of
Belfort (Territory of Belfort).
The museum dedicated to him in Colmar is only accessible to visitors with a valid health pass.
Wearing a mask is also compulsory throughout the establishment.
