The staff of the Jean-Rostand high school in Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines) announced on Wednesday that they wanted to exercise their right of withdrawal, the day after fireworks were fired at the school and the fire of a vehicle.

In a press release, the staff of the school evokes "voluntary fire starts, mortar fire (fireworks) in the establishment (...) and the arson of an educational vehicle", resulting in 60 staff members present to vote to exercise their right of withdrawal, "because of an imminent dangerous situation".

The staff asks, in its press release, the creation of "four posts of educational assistants to ensure efficient supervision".

A delegation of six teachers and staff members was invited at the end of the morning by the academic director of the national education services of Yvelines.

"We will listen to them and see what solutions we can put in place," said the academic inspection of the department.
