  The Shanghai Municipal Health Commission stated that the AIDS epidemic in Shanghai remains at a low prevalence level, and the majority of HIV-infected persons are still male, accounting for 91.0%.

Sexual transmission is still the main route of HIV infection in Shanghai, and it is still mainly male homosexual transmission.

  It is reported that Shanghai has further strengthened the comprehensive prevention and control of AIDS. The member units of the joint public health work meeting and the district governments cooperated closely and cooperated to control the AIDS epidemic at a low prevalence level.

Shanghai has strengthened comprehensive social governance and multi-sectoral joint actions to severely crack down on pornographic and drug-related crimes and suspected cases of deliberately spreading AIDS.

  According to the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, Shanghai has carried out comprehensive interventions for high-risk groups, exploring testing + comprehensive intervention models, encouraging self-testing, and detecting infected persons and patients to the greatest extent.

This year, Shanghai completed 37 national and 10 municipal AIDS surveillance sentinels, conducted risk assessments of high-risk behaviors, and strengthened follow-up support services for those who were initially screened positive.

  Shanghai further standardizes the follow-up and treatment of infected persons and patients, and establishes a whole-process service management model for HIV-infected persons and patients, such as testing and finding, standardizing referral, and standardizing treatment.
