Fei Genchun, 84, is a native of Lijinwu Village, Tangxi Town, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. He has been a mountain guardian for half his life.
The old man said that he used to be an armed police and his task was to stand guard.
After he was discharged from the army, the village sent him to guard the mountain.
Later, as Lijinwu Village and Lincun Shangjing Village jointly formed a forestry team, Fei Genchun also became the head of the forestry team, guiding everyone to open up wasteland and plant trees.
"Dug down the roots of the shrubs on the mountain, plant crops such as corn first, and plant cedar tree seedlings next spring..." Scenes of the past brought back memories of the old man.

"In those years, wood was inseparable to build houses, and many people went up the mountain to chopping." Fei Genchun said, these people were guilty when they met mountain guards, and they ran away after they dropped the wood.
Nowadays, no one has gone up the mountain to steal wood, the forests are getting denser, and the beasts are gradually increasing.
The old man said that wild boars often visit sweet potatoes, and yellow muntjac, porcupines, and wild goats occasionally come as guests, and eagles can always be seen hovering above their heads.
There is no cell phone signal or even electricity on the mountain.
For decades, lighting has depended on candles.
Last year, Fei Genchun had solar lights.
"The conditions in the mountains are difficult, and my family let me go down, but I am still willing to live in the mountains." Fei Genchun said, having been with the mountains and forests for many years, he has already got along with each other.
