A 69-year-old man who was thrown into the sea after a work boat capsized off the coast of Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture was rescued on the 28th, about 22 hours later.


The footage shot by the Japan Coast Guard showed the whole story of the tense rescue drama.

According to the Kagoshima Coast Guard, after 5:30 pm on the 27th, a person involved in the port construction on Yakushima reported that the working vessel underway had capsized.



The small work boat "Fifth Takamaru" was overturned, and as a result of a search by the Japan Coast Guard by sending out a helicopter and a patrol boat, about 22 hours later, after 3:00 pm on the 28th, about 30 southeast of Onoaida Port on Yakushima. A kilometer offshore, I found a man clinging to a capsized workboat.



In the video taken by the Japan Coast Guard, a boat of the Japan Coast Guard approached the work boat while the waves were swelling, and after the diver called "Please hold firmly", he swam to the man and headed for the man. The whole story of the rescue is shown.



The rescued man was a 69-year-old man who was the captain of a work ship, and although he had a bruise on his ankle, his life was not different.
