A 69-year-old man who was thrown into the sea after a work boat capsized off the coast of Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture was rescued on the 28th, about 22 hours later.

According to the Kagoshima Coast Guard, after 5:30 pm on the 27th, a person involved in the port construction on Yakushima reported that the working vessel underway had capsized.
The small work boat "Fifth Takamaru" was overturned, and as a result of a search by the Japan Coast Guard by sending out a helicopter and a patrol boat, about 22 hours later, after 3:00 pm on the 28th, about 30 southeast of Onoaida Port on Yakushima.
