On the night of the 31st of last month, a 72-year-old passenger man was stabbed by a knife in a car on the Keio Line running in Chofu City, Tokyo, and became unconscious. 16 people, including junior high school students, were injured.

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested an unemployed Kyota Hattori (25) on suspicion of attempted murder and arson, and is investigating the circumstances of the case, but on the afternoon of the 29th, the case occurred at the Keio Line vehicle base in Inagi City, Tokyo. The suspect was present for the first time in the vehicle that arose and a detailed examination was conducted.

According to the investigators, he confirmed the movement of the suspect in the vehicle and the situation when he lit the fire with a lighter.

In addition, he said in response to the investigation so far, "I thought that passengers could not escape on the train. I aimed for Halloween day when there are many people."

Hattori is believed to have purchased a knife and a large amount of oil in advance and prepared in a planned manner, and the Metropolitan Police Department has decided to further clarify the motives.
