Demystifying the "killing pig plate" in northern Myanmar

Recently, the trend of younger telecommunications fraud groups has become obvious, and more and more young people are caught in it.

Recently, our reporter interviewed a number of "gold diggers" who were caught in a fraud team in Myanmar.

  ---------------

For Li Fu (a pseudonym), a "salesman" who has worked in the Hongmen Mansion in Mengbo, Myanmar for a year, the most impressive thing is "setting off firecrackers."

Whenever a single "revenue" exceeds 500,000 yuan, the "company" will set off firecrackers to celebrate for the "salesmen" involved.

One day in September 2020, Li Fu, born in 1987, saw firecrackers flying all over the sky, and he "successfully" defrauded 1.44 million yuan.

The person who was defrauded by Li Fu was Wang Lan (a pseudonym), a citizen of Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province.

Wang Lan, born in 1970, works in the hospital.

On September 27, 2020, when she reported the case to the local police, she still did not doubt the identity of the "boyfriend" Li Fu she knew online. She insisted: "My boyfriend was also cheated."

After investigation, the local police targeted a transnational telecommunications fraud group in Mengbo, Myanmar.

According to the police, the group has a complex organizational structure and a large number of personnel.

Wang Lan's so-called boyfriend Li Fu is the "salesman" of the fraud group.

Online dating has become a "killing pig"

On September 10, 2020, Wang Lan met Li Fu on the social networking platform.

He claims to be from Suzhou, runs a construction company, and is only two years younger than Wang Lan.

Wang Lan, who had a failed marriage, admired this excellent middle-aged man very much.

After adding WeChat, Wang Lan was moved by looking at the handsome photos in Li Fu's circle of friends.

On WeChat, Li Fuxi asked warmly.

It didn't take long for the two to establish a romantic relationship.

After only 5 days of getting to know him, Li Fu told Wang Lan his "how to make money".

Li Fu said that he made hundreds of thousands of yuan by "buying the size" and "guessing the odds and doubles" on foreign betting sites.

Wang Lan, who couldn't stand the soft and hard foam, invested more than 10,000 yuan to "try the water" on Li Fu's suggestion.

What Wang Lan didn't expect was that he earned more than 1,000 yuan in one fell swoop.

Wang Lan was very excited after the withdrawal.

Two days later, Li Fu said that he had figured out the gambling rules of this website.

"Buying a small today must make money." On Li Fu's suggestion, Wang Lan spent another 50,000 yuan to enter the "VIP zone."

This time, Wang Lan earned another 35,000 yuan.

After successfully withdrawing the cash, Wang Lan admired Li Fu in all five ways.

Later, Wang Lan charged more than a dozen times, and the maximum amount was as high as 500,000 yuan.

On October 25, Wang Lan discovered that she had recharged a total of 28 transactions totaling 1.44 million yuan, but could no longer withdraw cash, only to realize that she had been cheated.

Recently, a reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily met Li Fu at the Jiangyin Public Security Bureau.

Li Fu told reporters that what he said to Wang Lan was "lie" and was "acted" according to the script that had been written before.

Li Fu in real life is an immortal tourist in Fujian.

After graduating from college, he went out to work and lived a very hard life.

In April 2020, just after the epidemic, Li Fu heard that fellow villagers from the same village were working as "Taobao customer service" in Myanmar, and easily received tens of thousands of yuan a month.

So Li Fu smuggled to Myanmar with his fellow villagers.

After entering Hongmen Building, Li Fu participated in the training organized by the company.

"The content of the training is to tell me how to engage with the target and how to gain the trust of others." At this time, Li Fu knew that he had entered the fraud group.

The meticulous Li Fu learned quickly and soon became a salesman.

"I usually say that I am engaged in construction." Li Fu told the China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily that the personality of the owner of a construction company can make female netizens feel that the other party is "rich and free."

Outside of work, he will often search for content related to the construction industry, so as not to "show stuff" when chatting.

Li Fu remembered Wang Lan's order very clearly, and he took more than 400,000 yuan in dividends alone.

"Local prices are very expensive, and everything needs to be spent." Li Fu said that before returning to China, the money was basically spent.

He spoke of a local jingle: "Myanmar earns money and I want to take home flowers."

Go to Myanmar to earn "quick money"

Zhang Yong, a young man born in the 90s in Putian, Fujian, is a "salesman" like Li Fu.

At the end of 2019, Zhang Yong met Afei (a pseudonym).

Many friends said that ALFY is a big boss and rich in business in Myanmar.

The idler Zhang Yong also hopes to make "quick money."

In accordance with Afei's instructions, Zhang Yong left for the "gold panning" in northern Myanmar.

He first went to Xiamen to take a plane to Kunming, and then he rushed to Xishuangbanna without stopping.

"You will stay here for five or six days in the hotel. When the border passes, someone will inform you." A Fei's call made Zhang Yongxuan's heart relieved.

He knew in his heart that this journey was actually a smuggling.

About a week later, Zhang Yong was taken into the car by the local "snake head".

There were more than 20 people in the car, all of whom were "stowaways."

At the foot of a mountain, everyone was driven out of the car.

Zhang Yong recalled that the driver had been warning that he could not make a sound, and someone would answer if he walked forward.

After walking on the mountain road for more than an hour, Zhang Yong finally saw the respondent.

The other party told him: "This is already northern Myanmar."

The end of Zhang Yong's trip was Hongmen Building in Mengbo, Myanmar.

ALFY said, this is where the company is located.

"That building has about seventeen or eight floors, and the company is on the eleventh floor." Zhang Yong said, as soon as he entered the door, he felt that "the atmosphere is a bit wrong."

He saw that the guards at the door had electric batons on their waists, and some people were still holding "AK guns."

After entering the company, Zhang Yong saw many "small cubicles".

Through the glass, he found that there were about seven or eight people in each compartment, and the floor was full of mobile phones and computers.

That night, Zhang Yong was arranged to enter the "department" for training.

Zhang Yong told a reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily that he was trained as a "director" of the company.

The other party told him that the newcomer should start as a "salesman", and the job content is to chat with women on the Internet and gain their trust.

They start to work at 12 noon every day and have to work until 11 at night.

In Zhang Yong's view, such a simple job is "strictly disciplined."

After entering work every day, the personal mobile phone must be handed over to the director.

He is using another cell phone sent to him by the director.

There are various social software accounts on the mobile phone, and Zhang Yong was asked to guide only middle-aged women to add WeChat accounts on the mobile phone.

"In fact, it's very difficult to operate. I add more than 100 people every day, but few people will believe it." After a period of time, Zhang Yong gradually became more sophisticated.

He succeeded in gaining the trust of a female netizen.

After Zhang Yong successfully added his WeChat, he handed the phone to the director.

A few days later, the director announced at a regular meeting that Zhang Yong had earned 5,000 yuan for the company, and 15% of it could be divided according to regulations.

Zhang Yong discovered that A Fei was the "little boss" in the company.

Under ALFY's recommendation, Zhang Yong was quickly promoted to director.

According to Zhang Yong, the company is roughly divided into several levels, such as big boss, small boss, director, team leader, and salesman.

"After being promoted to director, I have six or seven people under me." Zhang Yong said that if his "employees" make money, he will also get corresponding commissions.

Sell "salesmen" as goods

"The other party gave me 50,000 yuan and sold me!" Wang Wei (a pseudonym), a young man born in Putian, Fujian, born in 1994, seemed scared and helpless whenever he mentioned this deal.

In the Public Security Bureau of Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, a reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily met Wang Wei who had been "working" for 9 months in a fraud group in northern Myanmar.

After graduating from junior high school, with the help of his parents, Wang Wei set up a barber shop and made a living by craftsmanship.

But the good times didn't last long, and Wang Wei got into the habit of gambling.

He also owed a gambling debt of 100,000 yuan.

The creditor came to collect his debts in three days, making him unbearable.

He simply sold the shop and followed his friends to northern Myanmar.

"The days there are very difficult." One month later, he only received one business.

What Wang Wei didn't expect was that the company not only didn't pay him a salary.

On the contrary, he owed more than 10,000 yuan to the company.

It turned out that the mobile phones and social accounts used every day were rented.

Renting a mobile phone for 3,000 yuan a month, social accounts ranging from 300 to 500 yuan... Feeling deceived, Wang Wei immediately asked to resign.

But he was told that he could not leave the company unless he paid the debt.

There is no way, Wang Wei can only go on there.

In September 2020, Wang Wei was informed by the director that he had been "sold" to another company and continued to work as a salesperson.

After Wang Wei refused, the director threatened him: "You are here, we will kill you, no one knows, you figure it out."

The new company is still engaging in "killing pigs" fraud.

"The whole building is engaged in this, and each company has hundreds of people." Wang Wei said.

After joining the new company, Wang Wei became more depressed.

Every month, he has almost no "performance", and the "redemption fee" owed to the company has become more and more.

In meetings every night, the director of the new company would “personally insult” him and even beat and scold him.

"Are you a pig? Why don't you have any performance at all?" Such words become commonplace.

Wang Wei has always wanted to escape, but has never had a chance.

In March of this year, the local tax department came to inspect the building and found that the company's accounts were unclear and the company was forced to move. Wang Wei felt that an opportunity had come.

When moving, he worked very hard, going back and forth several times.

The company's director and team leader praised him for his "hard work and hard work."

The last elevator was almost full, leaving only Wang Wei and another fellow Putian waiting for the next elevator.

"Run at random!" Wang Wei quickly opened the elevator on the other side.

After arriving on the first floor, the guard saw that they did not stop the two upstairs and chose to let them go.

Wang Wei escaped from Hongmen Building in one go.

He ran all the way to the border, and with the help of the border police, he returned home smoothly.

He said: "I am willing to plead guilty, as long as I don't let me go back."

Sheng Yan, deputy director of the First Procuratorial Department of the People's Procuratorate of Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, said that recently, there has been a surge in telecommunication fraud cases.

Criminal groups have a clear division of labor and tight organization, which seriously endangers the people’s property safety.

It is worth noting that there is a clear trend of younger fraud groups, and more and more young people are caught in it.

"A gentleman loves money and obtains it in a proper way." Sheng Yan emphasized that smuggling, fraud, and organizing criminal groups are all serious crimes. I hope that the majority of young people will keep their eyes open and not become "tools" for fraud and crimes. They must abide by laws and regulations. ,down to earth.

In addition, she suggested that online friends should be cautious, and the majority of netizens should try their best to "do not trust and transfer money" to avoid risks.

Schools, governments, social organizations, etc. should strengthen anti-fraud and anti-fraud propaganda.

The public security organs should also step up their crackdowns so that illegal crimes have nowhere to hide.
