[Concurrent] Lin Dahui, Chairman of Hong Kong Sports Institute

I remember that when Zhang Jialang was playing, I just watched Zhang Jialang’s game on TV with some management of the Institute of Physical Education. Of course, we were very excited when we saw Zhang Jialang winning the gold medal, and we all felt very proud. We can train a world-class gold medal player, which makes us feel very excited and proud.

[Commentary] Talking about the feelings of watching Hong Kong athlete Zhang Jialang win the first Olympic gold after the return, Lin Dahui, chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Sports, is still very excited.

He said that in recent years, the Hong Kong team has shined in the international sports arena, with outstanding performance and fruitful results in many events. This not only makes Hong Kong's sports industry and citizens proud, but also brings "positive" to Hong Kong's sports and social development. energy".

[Commentary] Lin Dahui said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Institute of Sports. In recent years, the Institute of Physical Education has developed rapidly. There are currently 33 elite sports and about 1,500 athletes, including 550 full-time athletes.

In addition, he revealed that the SAR government will allocate about 1 billion yuan for the construction of new facilities for the college to provide more resources for the training of sports talents.

We have very first-class advanced sports equipment and facilities, and we have invited many world-class coaches to train our young athletes, and we will provide them with catering, medical services and financial support.

At the same time, we also have a strong sports science and sports research team.

We also have psychological counseling and physical counseling.

It is precisely because of this that in recent years, many young students are willing to devote themselves to the development of sports and sports, and many hope to become full-time athletes.

[Explanation] In terms of talent training, in addition to coaching students' professional sports skills, the college also pays attention to students' daily tasks. For this reason, it has signed cooperation projects with many high schools and tertiary institutions in Hong Kong to provide students with academic support.

[Concurrent] Lin Dahui, Chairman of Hong Kong Sports Institute

Our School of Physical Education and the eight tertiary universities in Hong Kong have signed a memorandum to provide them with a learning support plan, and they can enter these universities to study.

The length of their studies can actually be extended from four to eight years. Of course, we will provide a lot of academic support.

In addition, our sports academy also has a partnership program with some middle schools such as Lin Dahui Middle School.

They (students) go to school in the morning, go back to the sports academy for a full-time training at noon, and live in the sports academy.

This dual-track development allows them to devote themselves to their studies and sports careers.

[Explanation] In August this year, the General Office of the State Council of China issued a letter agreeing to Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau to host the 15th National Games in 2025.

In this regard, Lin Dahui said that the Hong Kong Institute of Sports will set up a special team for the 2025 National Games to train athletes in a targeted manner. He also hopes to provide professional advice and services for the SAR government to host events.

Facing the National Games, we believe that we will set up a special team to train our athletes in a targeted manner and improve their state and technical level.

Because we are very lucky this time, we can co-host this National Games in several places.

Our sports college must provide some professional advice to the Hong Kong SAR government, and until they can successfully host this National Games, it will be more exciting, safer, and simpler.

In addition, I believe that our sports academy will also provide medical services or medical advice for teams or athletes from various provinces and cities in the Mainland when they come to Hong Kong to compete.
