This city, known as the "beautiful pasture", turned into an "ice and snow world" overnight.

  It is reported that this is also the strongest snowfall in Urumqi since the beginning of winter this year.

The Xinjiang Meteorological Bureau previously issued a forecast that it is expected that from November 26 to 28, there will be cold waves in the eastern part of northern Xinjiang and northern Hami City, with temperatures falling by 8 to 12°C; Urumqi and Changji Prefecture will have heavy snowfalls with a cumulative snowfall of 15 ~20mm, 12~20cm of newly added snow.

  Affected by this cold wave, Xinjiang expressways, aviation, and railway travel have been affected to varying degrees.

  According to the high-grade highway traffic police detachment of the Traffic Police Corps of Xinjiang Public Security Department, the G7 Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway and the southern line of the Tuwu-Daqing Expressway in Xinjiang once used police cars to pass through the road in both directions.

  As of 13:00 on the 27th, Urumqi International Airport has carried out three deicing operations. There are 101 outbound flights scheduled for the whole day, 35 flights have been implemented, 24 flights delayed, 5 flights cancelled; 112 flights for the whole day arrival plan, 12 flights on arrival, 3 cancelled flights class.

There are currently no return or alternate flights, and 882 passengers stranded in the terminal.

The Keta line has strong winds and the railway department has strengthened. The blizzard bad weather emergency mechanism guarantees, prepares more than a thousand snow-removing equipment such as snow rolls, ice breakers, etc., all units move when they hear the snow, and take turns to clear the snow on the line.

Urumqi West Station sent additional personnel to clean up the snow on the turnouts in the station to minimize the impact of snowfall on train marshalling.

Snowfall has also had a certain impact on passenger transportation. Urumqi, Shihezi, Kuitun and other stations have cleared snow on the platform in time, strengthened passenger embarkation and landing organization, and ensured the safe operation of passenger trains.
