The Macau SAR government announced that the Macau police took the suspect Zhou Mouhua and other persons involved in the case back to the police station for investigation on the morning of the 27th according to the evidence found in previous criminal investigations.

  The Macau SAR government stated that it had received a notification from the relevant mainland authorities earlier that Zhou Mouhua, a Macau resident, shareholder and director of a gaming agency one-man limited company, was suspected of setting up a cross-border gambling criminal group and illegally organizing Chinese citizens to go to overseas gaming halls contracted by it. Gambling, participation in cross-border online gambling activities, the amount of money involved is particularly huge, seriously hampering the country's social management order, Wenzhou People's Procuratorate decided in accordance with the law to approve the arrest of the criminal suspect Zhou Mouhua.

  The Macau SAR government reiterated that all persons engaged in the gaming industry in Macau must strictly abide by the relevant laws and regulations of the country and Macau.

Suspected violations of the laws and regulations of Macao will also be investigated in accordance with the law and will not be tolerated.

When revising the gaming law, the SAR government will strengthen the supervision of gaming intermediaries and their businesses to ensure the healthy and orderly development of Macau's tourism and entertainment industry.
