A big brother

Revealed at FC Sion, Giovanni Sio now hopes to be able to bring his experience. "

For the younger ones, I could be a kind of big brother by giving them advice

," he told the club's official website.

But we will also have to stay focused on the objective, which is to move up the rankings. I'm here to be competitive that's for sure, but if I can help, so much the better. There is quality in all the attackers present, and if I can give them some advice, it will be with great pleasure. But of course my personal goal is to score goals to help the team.

He signed a contract with the Swiss club until 2023.

It's a homecoming for him.

With all his career and his experience of major championships and European cups, he will bring a lot to the team.

His aggressiveness and his absolute desire to win are still very much present,

”declared his sporting director Barthélémy Constantin.

In 2012, Giovanni Sio left Sion for the Bundesliga by signing for club Wolfsburg.

This globetrotter of the round ball also made the heyday of Rennes between 2015 and 2017. With the Breton club, he had participated in 72 games and scored 16 goals.

“

I am a very involved person.

I try to give the best of myself at all times.

Whether on the pitch or in the locker room,

 ”

he confessed to

at the time

.

“

I struggled a lot physically.

But now it's okay.

Hope to play soon.

I am a competitor.

I want to be as efficient as possible to have playing time

 , ”comments Giovanni Sio today.

At FC Sion, he finds his compatriot Geoffroy Serey Dié.
