Wedding party music kills 63 chickens of heart attack

As we all know, weddings are not complete without music and dancing, and while the loud music enlivens and entertains the wedding guests, the same becomes a nuisance to others.

In one bizarre incident predicting the ill effects of noise pollution, a poultry farmer claimed that 63 of his chickens died due to loud music played during a wedding party.

The incident was reported in Odisha district, where a poultry farm owner, Ranjit Barida, claimed that more than 60 chickens on his farm died due to heart attacks caused by music from the wedding party that came to his village.

"The groom's wedding procession came to his village around 11pm last Sunday night and started playing loud music, they even set off loud firecrackers. Then he claimed that he lost 63 broiler chickens that died after being affected by the loud music," Barida said.

"At about 11pm on Sunday, the groom's party from nearby Maitapur village arrived at my village with DJ music playing loudly. The groom also exploded firecrackers thickly. As the sound was too much for 2,000 broiler chickens in the... "My farm, I asked the people in the procession to lower the volume. However, they all seemed to be drunk and verbally abusive. The panicked chickens on my farm started running in fear and an hour later I found 63 dead chickens."

When the aggrieved farmer consulted a local veterinarian, he said the loud noises had shocked and killed the birds, according to a report by India Today, then sought compensation from his neighbor Ramachandra Pareda.

However, Ramachandra refused to pay for the loss, saying that the farmer's claims were unfounded.

He asked if chickens are moved from one place to another amid loud horns and do not die, how can they die from the sound of the DJ?

The farmer submitted a report of the accident to the local police station and the matter is currently being investigated.
