Sharjah sparkles with treasures of Emirati heritage in celebration of the 50

The celebrations of the 50th National Day were launched in three cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, "Dibba Al-Hisn, Al-Hamriya, and Al-Madam" in a national wedding that gathered crowds of citizens and residents.

The celebrations of Dibba Al-Hisn, in the presence of Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba, witnessed, for hours, the launch of a giant balloon carrying the UAE flag. The saxophone won the admiration of the audience, and added to the audience joy, interaction and enthusiasm.

In her speech during the ceremony, the Director of the Department of Culture in Dibba Al-Hisn, Wafaa Al-Ghoul, said: “The Union is following in the footsteps of the founding fathers, recognizing their merits, remembering the strength of their determination, wisdom and ability to foresee the future, and harnessing all their efforts to build a great renaissance that went ahead of time and charted our path as we move forward. Our homeland to Al-Ula.”

The ceremony witnessed an operetta written by Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Darbas, performed by Darwish Ali Sharara and Raya Muhammad Al-Hamoudi, composed by Ahmed Al-Washahi and directed by Dr. Hussein Ibrahim. It presented the audience with artistic paintings accompanied by poems that expressed the achievements of the union, and evoked the first days of its establishment.

The audience stood to swear an oath of allegiance to the UAE, accompanied by the special forces that performed on the stage their military shows, while the War Scarves Troupe, under the supervision of the artist Khalifa Al Weshahi, presented a number of Emirati folklore paintings, and the band also presented a war dance on heritage melodies and poems that the audience interacted with.
