Last minute appointments are increasing, notes Monique Hernandez, the manager of a municipal vaccination center in the city.

"There, we really have more people than usual. I have already opened three rooms whereas I usually only open two. We are going to ramp up to accommodate up to 400 people per day", she explains.

In this center, the waiting rooms are full and a line has formed at the reception barely an hour after Olivier Véran's announcements. Pascal, for example, came to complete his vaccination schedule before the structures were saturated with requests: "I am coming to do my booster dose. I am not working today so I take advantage of it because afterwards everything will be full. has the effect of announcements but also the fact that contaminations are on the rise again, so you might as well protect yourself as quickly as possible. "

Whether it is the vaccine doses, or the staff, everything is ready to meet the demand, according to Michèle Rubirola, the health assistant for the city of Marseille.

The town hall will also increase its capacity by opening a new vaccine park: "We are already in working order to cope with the acceleration in demand. The structures exist and we foresee the announcements that have just been made. at our exhibition center where we will be able to welcome up to 3,500 people per day ", explains the elected official.

This 2,500m² vaccinodrome will open its doors next Wednesday.
