Due to the perennial natural erosion of the Norbulingka ancient buildings, there are varying degrees of disease on the building roof and copper construction decorations, which affect the protection, research and utilization of the overall building.
In this project, gold roofs, cornices and copper ornaments of nearly 1,000 square meters in 9 ancient buildings will be gilded, repaired and reinforced.
Since the start of the project in July 2020, 70% of the total engineering volume has been completed.
After the resumption of work in 2022, Gesang Pozhang, Zhunzeng Pozhang, Tsoji Pozhang, and Xilong Palace will carry out gilding and roof repairs.
Norbulingka is a world cultural heritage and a key cultural relics protection unit in China. It was once the place where the Dalai Lama spent the summer and governed the country. It has a history of more than 200 years.
