Olivier Véran announced on Thursday new measures to contain the fifth wave of the coronavirus epidemic.

The Minister of Health announced in particular that the health pass will be compulsory on Christmas markets.

What made Eric Straumann, the mayor (LR) of Colmar react, reports Haut-Rhin news.

The Minister of Health has just announced that the #Christmas markets will be subject to #passsanitaire.

I will ask the State for help to finance these controls, the expenditure of which is estimated at 80,000 euros. @ Dnatweets @afpfr @ TF1

Six markets in total

"I will ask for help from the state to finance these controls, the expenditure of which is estimated at 80,000 euros," he wrote on his Twitter account.

In Colmar, there are six Christmas markets.

Until then, only the gourmet Christmas market in the town was subject to the health pass.

This decision therefore has logistical consequences.

Precisely, in order to define the practical modalities of the implementation of this measure, the councilor urgently met the prefect of Haut-Rhin this Thursday at the end of the afternoon.

Answers that will have to be quickly brought to visitors, the Christmas market having opened this Friday.
