This Thursday, Olivier Véran announced that the booster dose will be extended to all adults. They will be able to do it within a minimum of five months after their last injection, starting on Saturday. In the wake of the announcements, access to Doctolib was subject to a long waiting time, but the ministry wants to be reassuring about access to appointments.

Appointments for an anti-Covid vaccine booster jumped in the wake of Olivier Véran's announcements on Thursday, access to Doctolib being subject to a long waiting time, but the Minister of Health was wanted reassuring, stressing that all those who wish would have access to a third dose.

350,000 appointments made

Within 90 minutes of the minister's announcement of the opening of the vaccine booster to all adults, some 350,000 appointments had already been made, the platform said.

And the general public had even anticipated the government announcements, since 360,000 slots had been reserved Wednesday, a jump of 70% compared to the day before.

This influx "is not surprising", it shows that "there is an appetite of the French", commented Olivier Véran during his press conference.

However, "no stress, no panic: if the site saturates, it will be restored in the next few minutes or hours, we have seen that every time there have been announcements like these" , relativized the Minister of Health.

Strengthening of vaccination centers

The government intends to "strengthen" the vaccination centers to meet the demands, and also "to rely heavily" on city medicine - as well as on pharmacists, nurses, midwives or other physiotherapists - to perform the injections, detailed Olivier Véran.

In addition, contrary to the situation which prevailed when the first doses arrived, a little less than a year ago, "we have in stock, as I speak to you, enough vaccines to vaccinate. everyone, ”he said.

To receive the 3rd dose necessary to maintain the validity of the health pass, "you have two months, and during the two months which will arrive each one could have been vaccinated in good and due form", again reassured the minister.
