When to recall the vaccine against Covid-19?

What should people who have been infected with the virus need to plan for?

What about children and teenagers?

The point to navigate after the announcements of Thursday.

I am between 18 and 64 years old:

The booster, which is most often a third dose, will be possible from Saturday, with an interval of at least 5 months after the last injection.

From January 15, the booster dose will be mandatory for the health pass to remain valid.

This does not mean that the injection must necessarily have been made before this date, which simply corresponds to the entry into force of the mechanism: from January 15, the pass of these people will be deactivated if they have not had their booster dose at most 7 months after the last injection.

For example, someone who received their second dose on July 1 may have the third from December 1, and will necessarily have to do so before February 1, 2022 to keep their health pass.

I am over 65:

The recall has already been open since September.

The only change is that it can now be done 5 months after the last injection, and no longer 6. As for 18-64 year olds, this reminder will be mandatory to extend the health pass, but it will take effect one month earlier, December 15 instead of January 15.

It is exactly the same case for people most at risk of severe form of Covid-19.

These are people with certain pathologies listed in an official list (heart failure, history of stroke, chronic renal failure, obesity, cancer, etc.).

I am between 12 and 17 years old:

For this age category, nothing changes.

She can be vaccinated but is not affected at this stage by the booster dose.

I am between 0 and 11 years old:

Children of this age cannot be vaccinated against the coronavirus in France.

However, this could eventually be the case for 5-11 year olds after the approval of Pfizer's vaccine for this age group by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Thursday.

"This vaccination, if it were decided in France, would not start before the beginning of the year 2022", assured Thursday the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, who asked for their opinion from the High Authority of Health (HAS) and the National Ethics Committee (CCNE).

According to him, this period corresponds to the time needed to stock up on vaccines for children, which are less concentrated than those for adults.

I had the Covid after being fully vaccinated:

The authorities recommend in this case that an additional dose of vaccine be injected five months after infection, and not 5 months after the previous dose.

This scenario will arise more and more since the effectiveness of the two doses of vaccine against the infection decreases over time (which is why the booster dose was extended Thursday to all adults).

I had the Covid between the two doses of the vaccine:

Again, the second dose should be injected five months after infection.

This recommendation "is valid whatever the age and whatever the time of onset of infection after the first dose", according to the HAS.
