The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has decided to limit the amount of subsidy per household to a maximum of 1 million yen for a new support system that makes it easier for child-rearing households to acquire new homes with high energy-saving performance.

We would like to accelerate the decarbonization of the housing field while supporting the younger generation by a mechanism that makes a difference in the amount of subsidy according to the high performance.

The government has decided to subsidize a certain amount of energy-saving new housing for households with children under the age of 18 or households with a couple under the age of 39 in the economic measures decided last week. We have included a support system.

Regarding this system, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has decided to limit the amount of subsidy per household to a maximum of 1 million yen.

It is a mechanism that makes a difference in the amount of subsidy according to the high performance, and the largest amount of subsidy is for houses with enhanced heat insulation and reduced power consumption by solar power generation.

Next to this, "long-term excellent housing" with energy-saving performance will be subsidized at 800,000 yen per unit, and housing that meets the national energy-saving standards will be subsidized at 600,000 yen per unit.

In addition, even if the home is remodeled to improve energy-saving performance, it will be subsidized up to 450,000 yen per household for child-rearing households and 300,000 yen per household for other households.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has a policy of adding more than 54 billion yen to the supplementary budget for this year as a necessary expense, and wants to accelerate the decarbonization of the housing sector while supporting the younger generation.
