After yesterday's turbulence in Swedish politics, Minister of Culture Amanda Lind (MP) is now commenting on the party's decision to leave the government and her own resignation as Minister of Culture.

- My enthusiasm and passion for these issues does not disappear with the role of Minister.

I have worked with cultural policy for many years and will continue to be committed to a broad cultural life also in the future.

Ministry pandemic

Amanda Lind took office as Minister of Culture and Democracy in 2019 and her ministry has in many ways been marked by the pandemic.

A job that she is proud of, but that she does not feel finished with.

- We have really fought for culture during the pandemic, we have received record-breaking support and budgets, we have a restart investigation for culture and a large restart budget.

And it is clear that I would have liked to continue working here, she says.

What will happen to these issues now?

- We have a culture budget for next year that is record-breaking.

Among other things, reinforcements of regional culture, that we introduce production incentives for film and substantial restart support and it will be something for the next Minister of Culture to take further.
