“Tonight I don't want anything anymore.

No longer want to laugh.

Everything went so quickly, the day before he was still telling me that I was the best mother and that he loved me so much ”.

The message is overwhelming.

Posted on Facebook on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, it is signed by Mary, mother of Maxence.

This 11-year-old boy has been battling osteosarcoma since 2018, a bone cancer that mainly affects children between the ages of 10 and 20.

After several years of struggle and suffering, Maxence passed away on Tuesday, causing a great wave of emotion and solidarity among the many Internet users who had followed his fight for several years.

Donations to fight this rare and little-known disease

Based in Cléguer, near Lorient (Morbihan), his family had gotten into the habit of communicating on social networks in order to spread the word about the disease and make it known.

Nicknamed "Wolverine" by his mother both for his love for superheroes and for his ability to fight disease, Maxence must have been amputated.

His mother and father have never stopped mobilizing to try to advance research against this rare and little-known disease.

Their son had been able to meet the singers Bigflo and Oli on the sidelines of a concert in Nantes.

In 2019, he had been invited to the Christmas of the Elysée and had been able to pose with the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron.

A tribute will be paid to him on Monday, November 29 in Quéven.

People wishing to make a gesture are invited to send a donation to the Gustave Roussy Institute in order to finance research work.
