Three years ago, Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, mistakenly entered the amount of 3.4 million yen to be entered into the system as 3.4 billion yen when applying to the government for a grant to cover the lack of financial resources for the National Health Insurance. The amount has been reduced by approximately 58 million yen.

The city has been trying to make up for it, but it has decided to reduce the bonuses of the mayor and deputy mayor in order to make up for the shortfall.

In February 2018, when Kawanishi City applied for a financial adjustment grant subsidized by the government to make up for the lack of financial resources for the National Health Insurance, the income of the four subscriber households should be entered into the system at around 3.4 million yen. I mistakenly entered 1000 times as much as 3.4 billion yen.

As a result, the amount of the grant was reduced by more than 290 million yen from the original amount, and although the application was re-applied to the government, the amount was reduced by about 58 million yen, which is 20% by law.

Since the first year of Reiwa, the city has compensated for the reduced amount by curbing labor costs, but it is expected that the city will not be able to secure financial resources during the next fiscal year, which was the deadline.

At a press conference on the 25th, Mayor Koshida announced that he would reduce the two bonuses for December and June next year by 2 million yen, and the deputy mayor would reduce 500,000 yen.

At the press conference, Mayor Koshida said, "We cannot put a burden on the citizens because we made a mistake. We would like to share where mistakes are likely to occur and what measures we can take to prevent them from happening and try to prevent recurrence." Said.
