At a hospital in Nagoya City, an initiative to color the ward dedicated to patients with the new coronavirus with the power of art and to cheer up the patients as much as possible has begun.

This initiative began at the Nagoya City University East Medical Center in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya.

The center's ward dedicated to patients with the new coronavirus was renovated and maintained in April, and this time the university's Faculty of Design and the Faculty of Design decided to make this ward a relaxing space with the power of art. It means that they cooperated to launch the project.

In response to this, the ward is given a color to the murderous ward by pasting natural landscape photographs on the partitions and preparing paper cups and tissue boxes with animals printed on them.

In the corridor of the ward, a device that projects digital art is installed on the wall to project various images and photographs, and the swimming fish are devised to move in response to sound.

Chizuru Kusakabe, a nurse working in this ward, said, "There are many patients who are disappointed because the ward is closed, so it would be nice if we could change our mood as much as possible, and our staff were relaxed and released. You can feel like it. "

Sachiko Ito, the secretariat of the planned Nagoya Healthcare Art Management Promotion Project, said, "I think that medical professionals and patients are feeling a lot of stress due to the corona disaster, but the power of art can change the mood, heal, and look forward to it. If possible, "he said.
