"Elf oil" is a new method of fraud in the used car market in Egypt

Many buyers of used cars in Egypt, especially old ones, discover that the car engine needs to be repaired or changed after replacing the engine oil once or twice, and some think that it is just bad luck.

But whoever faces this problem may be caught in the trap of fraud by using "sprite oil"... So what is it?

Elf oil is an oil with a very high viscosity, and it is placed in certain proportions with engine oil, and it works to reduce white smoke resulting from engine damage, or to hide it completely.

Elf oil can be overcome by accompanying a specialized technician to inspect the car, and it is required that he be experienced, because there are signs that he is the only one capable of explaining, such as “sweating” the oil from several gaps in the engine.

It is possible to require the car seller to change the car oil before completing the purchase process.

It is also possible to examine the car in major car centers, and put it on the engine pressure gauge, which in most cases reveals this trick.

Elf oil is also used for fraud during vehicle inspection for license renewal, but with the development of traffic units and the reliance on modern exhaust gauges, this trick has become difficult to implement.
