In order to allow residents to do their Christmas shopping, the metropolis of Orleans (Loiret) has decided to make public transport free on Sundays 12 and 19 December.

This will affect all bus and tram lines in the TAO network, reports

La République du Center.

The relay car parks to take this transport will be free on these dates.

To cope with the increase in the number of travelers, the frequency of trams will be increased on Saturdays 4, 11 and 18 December and on Sundays 12 and 19 December.

Partly free parking

In December, parking will be partially free.

In the city center car parks, 1h30 will be offered (for a maximum of six hours of parking).

This measure will apply to the weekends of December 4, 5, 11, 12, and 18 and 19.

Motorists will be able to park for free in the street in the boulevards zone (purple zone) for 1h30 on Saturdays 4, 11 and 18 December.
