One week ago, the Swedish Public Health Agency announced that they want to introduce vaccination certificates for public gatherings and public events with more than 100 people indoors.

- Now the decision has been made and has been anchored in the Riksdag, says Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S).

- The decision gives organizers of, for example, cultural and sports events opportunities to maintain their activities during the autumn and winter, says Amanda Lind (MP), Minister of Culture and Democracy.

No demand

There will be no requirement for organizers to use vaccination certificates.

But if you give up, there are other rules to abide by.

Among other things, this means that the participants must have a designated seat.

Companies must also be able to keep a distance of at least 1 meter sideways and forwards and backwards from other companies.

The number of participants in one and the same company may not exceed 8 people.

Criticism from the Church of Sweden

In addition to cultural and sporting events, services will also be covered by the vaccination certificates.

Something the Church of Sweden has been skeptical about as they fear that their activities will be less accessible.

- I understand the religious communities, it is something that they have raised in several dialogues we have had, that they are hesitant to use vaccination evidence.

I have full respect for that, then there is the possibility that the Public Health Agency has now sent for consultation on regulations that apply if there are over 100 participants, Lind says.
