  Zhong Hanlin was sentenced to 40 months' imprisonment for the crime of secession and 18 months' imprisonment for the crime of "money laundering". Part of the sentence was executed at the same time, for a total of 43 months' imprisonment.

  Zhong Hanlin was charged with one crime of separatism from July to October 2020 and one crime of "money laundering" from January 2018 to October 2020.

The judge stated that the defendant had no actual plan to split the country, but the purpose was very obvious.

After the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law, the defendant also tried the law by himself, recruiting volunteers and fundraising on social media, actively organizing, planning and implementing secession of the country.
