The Saint-Brieuc auction house (Côtes-d'Armor) will be offering a small-format drawing by Pablo Picasso at auction this Saturday.

The start of the sale is scheduled for 2 p.m., reports

Ouest-France

.

The work estimated between 25,000 and 35,000 euros was signed by its famous author.

It is also accompanied by a certificate of authenticity drawn up on February 2, 2020 by Claude Ruiz Picasso, one of the artist's sons.

The color drawing for which Pablo Picasso used grease pencils measures 15.5 cm high by 11.5 cm wide and was made in 1961 on cream paper, the auction website said.

It is dedicated to “Pili”, who is in fact the companion of the toreador Luis Miguel Dominguín, one of the best friends of the Spanish painter, explains

Le Penthièvre

.

The sketch belongs to a Parisian collector.

A huge signature

"Picasso made a lot of drawings," commented auctioneer Tugdual Borel.

But what makes the rarity of this one is the topic approached: bullfighting.

We only know about ten of them in the world: one was sold, for example, at Christie's in New York.

On the other hand, the size of the signature: it is half the page!
