Her favorite quote:

When I die, Tomek, cry a little if you can't help it, but not too long, please.

You may come to my grave from time to time, so tell yourself that I will no longer be there.

If you want to see me, you'll have to turn around.

You will watch the rows of trees blowing in the wind, the puddle where the little bird drinks, the young dog playing, that's where I'll be, Tomek.

Why this book?

  • Because the PKJ editions bring together the two volumes

    of

    The river upside down

by Jean-Claude Mourlevat in a complete collector's edition illustrated by Thomas Reteuna.

The opportunity for young readers who have not yet done so, to discover the adventures of Tomek and Hannah, two adventurers ready to do anything to carry out their quests.

  • Because this youthful fantasy duology

is a little gem of travel and sweetness. Tomek, a young orphan running the village grocery store, dreams of adventure but cannot bring himself to leave until the day he meets Hannah. The latter tells him about his search for the Qjar river ... whose water would have the power to prevent dying! Shortly after, Tomek decides to go in search of this strange river… and of the beautiful Hannah who seems to have bewitched him.

  • Because the heroes aged 12 and 13

are as endearing as they are courageous and will experience many adventures to reach their destination; this river which, it seems, would flow backwards. They will discover many strange places as well as their inhabitants. From the Forêt de l'Oubli to the Inexistent Island via the Perfumers' village, their journey will be colorful and full of surprises.

  • Because Jean-Claude Mourlevat gives us

here a fresh and exciting adventure.

Above all, it proves to us that the twists and turns of a journey to the mysterious quest are enough to create a thrilling story and that a good story does not necessarily need a villain!

    In short,

    The Upside

    Down

    River

is a perfect complete for readers from 11 years old who like colorful fantasy universes full of surprises.
