Unless you have an electric car rally grand prix, the Albi circuit is not about to host a new car race in the coming weeks.

On August 31, after new sound surveys, the Séquestre town hall (Tarn) issued a decree limiting the activity to a maximum of four vehicles with thermal engines.

A decision which had been challenged in summary proceedings by DS Events, the company managing the site, before the administrative court of Toulouse.

No immediate attack

The judges rejected this Monday the request of the company DS Events considering that the decision of the mayor did not affect, "in a serious and immediate way, a public interest, the situation of the applicant or the interests he intends to defend" , explains the administrative court in a press release.

Until the examination of the file on the merits, not for several months, no race involving more than four vehicles may take place.

For several years, residents have stepped up to the plate to limit noise pollution from the circuit.

Despite the creation of a noise barrier, surveys have shown that the limit values defined by the Public Health Code have been exceeded.

This led the mayor to take the decree of August 31.
