José Sacristán will receive the Goya of Honor 2022 for "representing us in a unique way in so many unforgettable titles that
are part of our intimate memory
," as announced by the Film Academy in a statement.
Sacristán, who received the National Film Award this year, has
been
"playing responsibly" in film, theater and television for
more than 60 years
.
Sacristán already won the Goya for best performance in 2012 thanks to his work in
El muerto y ser feliz
and was a candidate for the Goya for best supporting actor in 2014 for
Magical Girl.
Sacristán, a village boy (Chinchón, 1937) who, in principle,
aspired to a manual trade
, began in the 60s, in the theater.
In 1965 he made his film debut in the legendary
La familia y uno más
and, since then, he has participated in 111 films, sometimes as a comic character, sometimes as a heartthrob, and sometimes as a tormented man.
He has been in the open, in auteur cinema and in breakthrough films of the new century.
His latest film,
Beware what you want
, by Fernando Colomo (still pending release), is a comedy dated at Christmas, as in a nod to his first film.
